The wooded hills and wetlands of these two properties, donated by Gail and Harold Lindebo,
are home to numerous species of squirrels, foxes, minks, woodchucks,
grouses, wild turkeys, raccoons, opossums, black bears, and snowshoe
hares, as well as a variety of eagles, hawks, and owls. Over the past
several decades, the Lindebos have planted as many as 20,000
white pines on these two properties, restoring trees that have been
logged years ago by previous owners. One property is 600-acres, providing
a sizable sanctuary in and of itself; the other borders a national forest,
near an elk reintroduction project.
