One of the guiding principles of the Wildlife Land Trust is that even small tracts of land can make a big difference. That’s a key reason why Wanda Broadie Alexander chose to work with the Trust when she decided in 2006 to put a conservation easement on the 2.5-acre property where she’s lived for 30 years.

Located just south of San Jose, her land is a wildlife oasis in a sea of large residential developments. Bordered by a ravine on one side and a year-round stream on the other, the property draws many animals searching for water and shelter, including deer, coyote, bobcat, opossum, and raccoons. It is also a key linkage through developments to protected wildlife habitat areas.
